2 month costed extension (360G-Wellcome-091593_Z_10_A)

£252,519

This application to renew the Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging is predicated upon ascientific ambition to develop formal approaches to neuroimaging data based upon the use of wellcharacterised models. This ambition capitalizes upon developments, led by the Centre, which haspioneered approaches to brain imaging data that make use of computational models of brainfunction and biophysical models of neuronal dynamics. Our wider ambition is to furnish theneuroscience community with generic models that will have applicability to the analysis not only offunctional neuroimaging data (fMRI), MEG and EEG but also data acquired from direct recordingsof brain activity acquired in animals and humans. More broadly our ambition is to developtheoretical and analytical frameworks that will enable us, through our diverse PI research portfolio,to address not only fundamental questions in systems neuroscience but also breakdowns infunction that characterises common neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.
