Recipient Org: Description The Ley Community’s rehabilitation recovery programme is an abstinence based therapeutic community model of intervention which utilises peer support and self-help in its intensive and highly structured residential rehabilitation programme. The programme is targeted at people with addiction to drugs and/or alcohol; including prolific offenders with an addictions history and individuals with a short history of substance misuse. The recovery programme is unique because we use Therapeutic Community (TC) Concepts linked to recovery outcomes together with a range of other therapeutic interventions. It is our aim through these programmes for clients to complete the programme and secure full-time employment, move out into independent living and no longer be ‘in treatment’. The intensive structured approach provides residents with an abstinence based pathway to recovery and re-engagement within mainstream society as contributing citizens.
