Williton RBL WW1 Commemoration Events
Brannel School - 4 court Sports Hall 06 Sep 2004
This project will build and equip a new four-court sports hall. The aim is to enable young people at the school, other local schools and the wider community to participate in organised physical activity. The facility will offer a range of activities including tennis, badminton, cricket, football, netball, judo, PE and gymnastics. Beneficiaries include 700 Brannel School pupils, 1,300 pupils from other schools and 1,142 wider community users.
Penryn Community College - Multi Use Games Area 15 Nov 2004
Cornwall County Council will install a new floodlit multi use games area at Penryn College. It will provide opportunities for 850 pupils from the college, 1,300 pupils from other local schools and 19,550 visits from the wider community to participate in a range of sporting activities, which will include football, hockey, rugby training, athletics and kwik cricket. It will also free up the existing indoor facilities to enable an even wider range of sports to be played.
Revenue Grant 06 Dec 2004
This revenue grant will promote the use of the PE and Sports facilities built through Cornwall County Council's portfolio of projects to the wider adult community. Activities will particularly focus on engaging users from disadvantaged groups

Many schools in the country have undertaken work to uncover their local history and this is viewed as an important part of learning in Cornwall. Cornwall- Our Past Our Future will give schools the opportunity to creatively examine the past, present and future implications of World War 2 on their community and Cornwall as a whole.

Martock Royal British Legion Branch have been awarded a grant to help commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2. They will have a day of events aimed at remembering the war with entertainment from the era and refreshments.
Party And lunch 12 Aug 2005
The Royal British Legion Women's Section Yatton Branch have been awarded a grant to allow them to undertake a 60th anniversary celebratory meal. The group will also undertake visits to the Dunkirk Memorial Home and local Royal British Legion residential home.
The Royal British legion Banwell Branch has been awarded a grant to enable them to carry out a day trip to London as part of their celebration and commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2. The project will encompass a day trip to London to visit the Imperial War Museum for 40 veterans, which will also include lunch and dinner.

The Hindon branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a range of activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WW2. This will include a dig for victory venture, a wartime tea party, historical talks, and an exhibition. The week of events will conclude with a celebration day, which will include a parade, re-enactments, a flying display and a Concert._x000B_
Celebratory Cathedral Service & Parade 27 Apr 2005
Cornwall County Council will use their award to work in partnership with various other organisations to carry out a parade and commemorative service for the 60th anniversary of WW2. Veterans organisations and youth organisations will take part and refreshments will be provided afterwards.

A project to commemorate the events leading to the end of WW2 with the provision of an outing for members of this group based in Bratton, West Wiltshire and pupils of a local primary school to the Army Air Corps Museum in Wessex.
