This is a project by a community organisation in Cannock, serving beneficiaries across Staffordshire and the West Midlands. The group will use the funding to carry out essential repairs to the engine of a community narrow boat which provides day trips to older people and those living with disabilities. This will improve community facilities and help to reduce isolation for individuals in the local area.
The project will deliver peer mentoring training for survivors of domestic abuse and carry out an evaluation of the volunteersâ€™ progress. This will equip the mentors with mindfulness skills and self-esteem, and provide improved holistic support services for people affected by domestic abuse.

Nautical Novices 04 Jan 2017
The funding will be used by a primary school to transform and replace a derelict timber area into a nautical themed play area with scramble pitch, ropes, splash feature and ship structure. The project aims to provide a local community play facility that will promote, enable and encourage physical activity, social interaction and role play amongst children before and after school.
The school will develop their outdoor play area and create three play zones, with a tunnel, ramp, mud kitchen and giant play house. Children from the school and the wider community will be able to access the improved facilities and activities.

This project will upgrade their current telephone system and provide new computers and furniture for the benefit of staff, volunteers and clients. This will enable the organisation to improve their office environment and deliver a more efficient service to the local community.
