A new play area will be created with the funding, for children who are experiencing the effects of physical inactivity and who live in an area that lacks safe outdoor play facilities. This will encourage the children to become more physically active and self-confident.
The project will develop a funding plan, and work with developers, professionals and the community to transform Newbiggin Golf Club into a community asset. They plan to improve the venue and create a facility that can be used by local groups and residents for activities and events.

The project will build an interactive/human sundial surrounded by a wildlife garden. This will improve facilities for educational and recreational activities and help young people and vulnerable groups to develop confidence, social and employability skills in constructing, designing and landscaping the new area.

The project will run a series of social activities for people of all ages from the community. They will provide volunteering opportunities, raise awareness of dementia, explore opportunities for cross generational learning and sharing, and reduce the isolation of older people.

Digital LifeBooks for people with dementia 18 Jan 2017
The project will deliver a pilot course for older people with early onset dementia from Northumberland. They will help participants develop IT skills and provide them with reminiscence activities so they can create multimedia journals of their life stories involving music, scrapbook, photos and creative writing. This will offer a peer support network, help reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing.
Replacement of chairs in Parish Hall 25 Jan 2017
The project will replace the chairs in their community hall to improve safety and enable community groups, including older people, to continue to use the hall for activities.
This group will use the funding to purchase new resources for its outdoor learning area. The space will support the development of school children in reception year, who are experiencing the effects of social and educational disadvantage.

The project will install a toddler play zone in Stamfordham village park to improve local play facilities for young children and families.
Getting About Safely Project 01 Feb 2017
The project will deliver support workshops and events, and provide one to one peer support to help young people with learning disabilities to travel safely. They will train volunteers to support the project, develop a â€˜Safe Placesâ€™ scheme in Northumberland and provide young people with advice and information on the driving assessment process and theory test, to increase their confidence and independence, and improve their access to learning, work and leisure opportunities.

This group will use the funding to replace steps with a ramp, block pave a patio and install a garden and sensory area for the care home gardens. This will provide a safer environment for older people and support health and wellbeing.
