The group, based in Moyraverty near Craigavon, provides a wide range of activities for people over the age of 50 to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing. The three-year project is using a £33,030 grant to run activities to improve the health and wellbeing of its members, including day trips, tea dances, a walking group, and a Christmas dinner. They will also organise intergenerational residentials with young people from Brownlow Youth Project.

Going Green For A Living - making the town parks work for the town

The school in Dromore, Co. Down will use the £10,000 grant to turn an un-used room into an extra-curricular space to be used by students and the wider community, helping the school to develop learning partnerships between school, home and the community.

RurCDS: SWEA / BRO Rural Community Development Support

The Orange Lodge, which is based in a rural area near Craigavon, provides community facilities. They are using the £10,000 grant to create a multipurpose tarmac area for children and adults to use for social and recreational activities.

The organisation, based near Castlewellan, is a riding for the disabled association. They received a £10,000 grant to make improvements to their facilities so these are more accessible for the disabled members of their group.

The club provides social and educational activities for young people in the Clonmore area, outside Dungannon. The project received a £10,000 grant to provide activities for the young people and buy equipment for youth club.

The group, based in Armagh, provides social activities for widows, widowers and carers. They are using a £10,000 grant to provide a respite trip to Scotland for 90 members.

The group, based in Portadown, provides programmes to develop the local community. They are using the £10,000 to set up a Portadown Men’s Shed.

The Portadown theatre group delivers creative arts projects to support social change. The project is using a £10,000 grant to run theatre workshops and performances with community and youth groups, exploring themes of human rights, gender equality and peace.

West Armagh Consortium is working with eight community groups on the three-year West Armagh Community Support and Development Project. They are using a £196,801 grant to employ a manager to coordinate a joint activity programme with all the groups including action planning workshops, a volunteer programme, health and wellbeing activities, a youth programme, older people’s activities and intercultural events. The project has been designed and developed by local people involved with each of the groups.

The service, based in Lurgan, provides confidential counselling in a safe environment. They are using a £10,000 grant to provide more counselling sessions for people living in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust area and to create a strategic and operational plan.

The club offers a variety of community based activities in and around the Banbridge area. The received a £10,000 grant to make improvements to their hall to make it more accessible to new and existing users and more energy efficient.

The group, which is based in Armagh, runs activities in Armagh Orange Hall. They are using the £10,000 grant to make improvements to kitchen in the hall so more activities can take place there.
