Storm Dennis Fund
"The monthly lunch club operated by BWCS provides the opportunity for up to 30 residents to have a hot two course meal and enjoy socialising with others; there is a quiz and occasional guest speakers and transport is provided to the Jubilee Hall in Llanelwedd where the lunches are prepared and served. The Jubilee Hall was inundated in the floods and is likely to remain closed for many months. BWCS lost food and equipment and the sorting and clearing of our goods necessitated overtime for staff. Identifying temporary venues for the lunch club has been problematic as we need a substantial kitchen with the necessary health certificates, within a reasonable distance. BWCS has now identified temporary venues so the lunch club can continue but these are at substantial extra cost."
