Remembrance Concert 25 Jun 2004
The South Lancashire Holding Branch of the Royal British Legion have been granted an award to enable them to host their Northern Remembrance Concert. This will be held at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. There will be a range of guests and performances.
The Stepping Stones Project 14 Sep 2004
The Stepping Stones Project addresses a gap in service provision for homeless people in Barnet. The project will operate on Sunday and Bank Holidays to complement a week-day service run by Homeless Action in Barnet at the same location. Homeless people will be provided with meals and supported to access services in areas such as health, personal hygiene and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Volunteers will receive training to help broaden their experience and develop their skills.
This branch of the registered charity would use an award to organise a reunion consisting of a parade and a church service to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day landings. Many of their members in Kent will not be able to attend National events either abroad or in this country because of their age and state of heath. Ashford is easily reached by road or rail. Organisations and youth groups like St Johns Ambulance, Army cadets, Navy cadets and scout groups would also attend.
Parade and Church Service VE VJ Day celebrations 24 Feb 2005
This branch of the Royal British Legion will use its award to organise a parade through the town centre accompanied by a marching band. This will be followed by a summer fair with an open-air Drumhead service.
Ballynahinch Royal British Legion Festival 24 Mar 2005
As part of the 60th Anniversary festival being held in Ballynahinch the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a parade. Up to 200 veterans as well as Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Scouts and Cadets will take part. This will provide a valuable link between the youth of today and those who served their county in the Second World War.
Veterans Awareness Day at the Races 30 Dec 2004
This independent branch of the charity will use an award to commemorate the end of the Second World War by holding a "Veterans Awareness Day" at the Races in Lingfield Park during the National Veterans Awareness Week in July 2005. The Races will be named after Veterans and a parade of standards accompanied by a Royal British Legion band will take place before the main race. This event will also comprise stalls and exhibitions of WWII memorabilia and the presentation of Veteran badges.
The Royal British Legion North West Norfolk branch will use their award to hold a range of activities to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of the War. These activities will involve a street party, 1940s style Tea Dance, 1940s Big Band Dance, Parade and a Commemorative service.

The High Ongar Branch of the RBL have received an award to carry out a parade in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of VE and VJ Days.
Fete and Entertainment 25 May 2005
The Royal British Legion Minchinhampton Branch have been awarded a grant that will allow them to carry out a 60th anniversary community event, where veterans will be present to talk to children and a display of wartime memorabilia will be present. The group will also host a 1940's style event for the veterans with entertainment from the era. A booklet will also be produced about the local community during the war and the impact of rationing, etc.

The Middleton Branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a 60th anniversary commemoration parade followed by an outdoor service. In the evening there will be entertainment and a hotpot supper.
