This group will use the funding to provide weekly mentoring support sessions and workshops for disengaged young people living in deprivation. Participants will be offered support, skills and training to engage them into community life.

Keeping Well with Sickle Cell Project 01 Feb 2017

A series of healthy workshops will be provided with this funding. The workshops will include training courses, nutrition learning and exercise techniques for people living with the effects of sickle cell and thalassaemia disorder. This will develop a better approach to improve the quality of health and wellbeing for participants.

This school will use the funding to create a trim trail for their pupils, encouraging them to be fit and active.

This school will use the funding to create an allotment site and reflection garden, run gardening workshops and provide healthy eating sessions for parents and children. Their knowledge of food and nutrition will be improved, leading to better physical health and wellbeing.

IT training for vulnerable families 22 Feb 2017

This group will use the funding to provide IT and internet skills training for vulnerable parents. Participants’ technology skills will be improved, making them more confident in using computers to seek employment and access local services.

This project will stage arts and music sessions for local people. This will enable the organisation to engage local people in activities which encourage bringing the community together.

Active Communities 30 Mar 2017

This project will run a facility where the community interacts with disabled people – supporting and learning from each other. The facility will provide opportunities for people to meet, develop and take part in community activities, improving their health and wellbeing.

Stay Safe: Join In 09 Feb 2017

This project will continue to provide specialist training for adults with learning disabilities who are at risk of abuse, unemployed, or who face isolation. Group and peer training will give people taking part the support and skills they need, increasing their confidence and raising awareness of different types of abuse, including financial, physical and sexual. For the first time the project will also empower those taking part by creating access to education, employment and social activities.
