The project will allow young people and those not in employment, education or training to host workshops, radio shows and panel discussions. These events will be used as a platform for the young people to carry out research and discuss issues with the aim of prompting social action. The young people will gain skills and qualifications which will support them into further education and employment.
The group will use the funding to train volunteers who will then be better equipped with skills to tackle issues of loneliness in the community. The project aims to help reduce social isolation, particularly amongst older people.
This is a project by a community organisation in Haringey benefiting people in Bristol, Kingston-upon-Thames and Hackney. They will use the funding to provide sensory science workshops for children who are living with disabilities. This will lead to improved attitudes towards learning and better chances in life.
