Interpreting World War 1 through Commemoratives
The project is to set up craft/social clubs for older people. The money is for hire of meeting rooms, materials and travel costs for outings.
The project is to recruit volunteers over the age of 50yrs and place them in schools alongside children wh0 need help in developing their basic numeracy and literacy skills. The project will empower older people to engage in local community activity. The grant over three years will partly fund one full time and one part time Schools Project Co-ordinator post, training and travel for staff and volunteers, office equipment, rent and general running expenses.
Church service and Parade in llangollen 05 Aug 2005
Llangollen and District Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to help commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2. They will have a Parade through the streets of Llangollen with a Church Service and buffet.

Llandudno Royal British Legion in Wales have been awarded a grant to enable them to carry out two activities as a part of their commemorative celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of the ending of World War Two. The project will encompass a thanksgiving church service at Holy Trinity Church and then followed by a Parade to The Cenotaph were a another short service will be held before the laying of the Wreaths. The project will then conclude with refreshments and a special VE and VJ concert.

The Royal British Legion Gwent County Committee have been awarded a grant to hold a Drumhead Service of Thanksgiving to mark the 60th anniversary of the cessation of hostilities of World War Two. The event will be attended by many ex-services and veterans groups and will cover five county authorities in Wales.
