Weekend D-Day celebration event 25 Jun 2004
The Gateshead branch of the Royal British Legion has been awarded a grant towards their weekend of celebrations in commemoration of the D-Day landings. This will involve a church service as well as entertainments and refreshments. The event is open to all residents in the Gateshead area.
Northern Remembrance Concert 24 May 2004
The organisation, in general, safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who served in the armed forces. With the funding it will arrange for the Royal Marine band to visit and perform at the first Northern Remembrance Concert in Manchester that the British Legion will host. The event will enhance community spirit whilst at the same time create a platform for inter-generational relationship development. It will also develop comradeship and audience participation.
The project is to set up craft/social clubs for older people. The money is for hire of meeting rooms, materials and travel costs for outings.
War Graves Visit 11 Apr 2007
The group provides support to families and partners of ex-service people, throughout the city of Lisburn. The grant will enable the group to travel to London en route to The Somme.
Visit to the British war graves in Belgium 20 Feb 2007
The award will contribute towards the cost of travel as part of a trip to the First World War graves in Belgium for members who have close relatives buried there.
Family Day, Parade and Dance 26 May 2005
Royal British Legion Broomfield Branch have been awarded a grant that will allow them to carry out a 1940's style street party in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of WW2.
VE Day Service 26 May 2005
The South West County branch of the Royal British Legion will use a grant to fund a VE Day parade to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This will involve a large number of veterans who served in various capacities during the War.
VE/VJ Commemorative Events 26 May 2005
Goudhurst Branch of The Royal British Legion will use a grant to organise a series of events in conjunction with the local ex-servicemen's club to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This will involve recording the memories of those that lived through the War in various capacities. This will form the central focus for a day of events designed to bring the community together along with a group of Chelsea Pensioners for a widespread celebration of 60 years of peace.

The Great Bentley and Thorrington Branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to host a 2 Day Commemoration event for Ex-Servicemen and family and friends.
Wartime Dinner & Entertainment 27 May 2005
The Seaham branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a commemoration dinner to remember the contribution made 60 years ago during WW2 by the town. The group will be inviting various members of the community to attend the event.
Reunion Party 27 May 2005
The Poynton Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a reunion and street party to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Local veteran groups, schools and community groups will come together for a weekend of celebration and an exhibition will detail life during the war.
Airbase Activities 27 May 2005
The Penketh and Sankey Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a street party to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Burtonwood Heritage Museum will contribute exhibits to the event and an evening dance with have a themed 1940's troupe.
WW2 Rally 05 Aug 2005
The Sutton on Hull branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to send its members to the regional rally in Bridlington. The award will cover the travel and accommodation costs.
