D-Day Commemoration Service and Parade 25 Jun 2004

The Northenden branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to enable them to hold a commemmoration service and parade in celebration of the anniversary of D-Day. Various old comrades groups and associations will be represented. The event will culminate in a concert by the local silver band.

Sound System 25 Jun 2007

The project is to improve the group's facilities so that people with hearing impairment can participate.The money is for the purchase of amplification equipment.

This branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to transport the National Youth band of the Royal British Legion to Devon so that they can participate in the 60th anniversary celebrations.

This branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a VE/VJ party and to visit the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

Church Service and Celebration 27 May 2005

The Handforth Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a commemorate event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two. A reception will be held afterwards with local cadet forces, girl guides, scouts and other community groups expected to come together to celebrate.

Royal British Legion Soham Branch have been awarded a grant to enable them to carry two events as part of their celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The project will be comprises of two parts the first being a trip to the Horse guards Parade and Buckingham Palace and the second being a social evening for the members and the other local veterans.

The Castle Acre & District Branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a grand parade and church service to commemorate the 60th anniversary, and a commemoration lunch. The group will be producing a booklet outlining the impact of WW2 on their group's history, this will be distributed to the general public.

The South Manchester Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to enable two of their members to attend the 60th anniversary celebrations in London on 10 July. The veterans have been invited to Buckingham Palace for the VE Day Commemorative Lunch.

A project to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of WW2 with the provision of a parade, open air service and concert for the benefit of members of this group and the wider community of Buckley, Flintshire.

Veterans Lunch to Commemorate the End of WW2 22 Jul 2005

The Royal British Legion Brewood and District Club Have been awarded a grant to enable them to carry a commemoration Lunch as part of their celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The project will be a lunch for the local veterans to be able to come together for a set down meal and whilst at lunch they can reminisce about the war years and listen to music of the era.

VE and VJ day commemoration event 24 Jun 2005

The Pulborough & District branch of the Royal British Legion will use a grant to organise a Remembrance Service aimed at commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. There will be numerous veterans involved from other local branches so that the event is also partially a reunion of former comrades. The Service will involve a broad cross-generational group and seeks to mark those who lost their lives during the War and will be followed by a lunch with period entertainment.
