This group based in Dumfries will hold a free three week summer programme of creative arts workshops for young people aged 13 to 21 years of age across the region. This will link in with the Year of Young People and will lead to a performance over three days on the 10th, 11th and 12th August.

Towards core costs to enable the national expansion of a project which uses volunteers to help older people overcome food access problems and provides home support and befriending services.
To fund the salary of a pilot carers' outreach worker in a rural area of Dumfries.
This project will provide 12 laptops for use by the public in community venues in 4 remote outlying communities where there is not currently combination of equipment and access readily available at present. Additionally, 6 supported training and information sessions will take place at each venue around themes of: - Making Your Universal Credit Claim Online - Managing and Maintaining Your Universal Credit Journal & Claim Online - Effective Online Job Search - CV's - What They Are, Why You Need One and What Makes a Good CV - Creating and Updating Your CV - Saving Money Online These sessions will be targeted at existing benefit claimants in outlying rural villages (both Loreburn customers and wider general public resident in those communities). Priority will be given to those individuals on benefits involving actively seeking employment such as those on qualifying benefits scheduled to transfer / in process of transferring over to / recently transferred to Universal Credit. The laptops will be left for use for a block of time at each venue - one per district in rural villages of Wigtownshire, Stewartry, Nithsdale and Annandale and Eskdale.

Young children and their families are supported through difficult times. Volunteers offer practical and emotional support, and are recruited and managed by our Co-ordinator. An additional Co-ordinator is required to meet needs and demands of families who face social/geographical isolation and health issues.55% have mental health difficulties, including addiction.
Creetown Enterprise Centre 26 May 2015
This group will convert a former pub in Creetown (the Barholm Arms) into a retail space for a co-operative of local arts and crafts producers, low rental workspaces for businesses, a laundrette, and a bunkhouse on the upper two floors. This will create local job opportunities, boost tourism and provide an income stream for local community groups and to support other community projects.
This festival takes place over three days in June and showcases local groups as well as national acts. The event will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016 and the group aim to use the funding to enhance the festival experience through purchase of new PA equipment. The funding will also enable the group to better publicise the even.
Newton Stewart Community Facility 21 Oct 2015
This group will use the funding to investigate the possibility of developing its own community facility, comprising of office/meeting room/function space, canteen/dining facilities, a shop/tourist information, a cyber/learning suite, a counselling/consulting room, and storage space.
This parent council will use the funding for fitness equipment to increase level of fitness and to open local clubs out with school hours.

This group will use the funding to improve village life through a consultation study that explores and reports formally on the depth of support for ideas now emerging from the Balmaclellan community. These ideas include the setup of a separate legal entity to progress the aims of the community including the development of a heritage centre, the purchase of land to develop a community garden and affordable housing for local people.
