The project will run weekly activities during the Summer holidays to support disadvantaged young people and reduce their social isolation. Young people will be able to access volunteering and training opportunities to help deliver activities, which include camping, visiting an activities festival, and healthy eating sessions.
The Trackers project 08 Feb 2017
The school will run a range of health and wellbeing sessions including boxercise, yoga, gymnastics and football for students and their families. They will also offer leadership awards to encourage students to make healthy lifestyle choices and develop their confidence.
The project will deliver a dementia friendly programme of activities at Jesmond Pool including dance, choir and table tennis to help improve the physical and mental wellbeing of people with dementia, their families and carers. They will evaluate the project to help improve future programmes.
Addressing Youth Homelessness 07 Dec 2016
The project will refurbish their office, develop their website, put in place financial and HR policies and procedures and develop a business plan. This will help ensure their future sustainability to deliver services for young people and young homeless people in the north east.
This six month development grant will allow Ways to Wellness Limited (W2W) to obtain technical support to launch a seven yea social impact bond (SIB) with Newcastle West Clinical Commissioning Group. This will provide improved social prescribing to 5,000 patients with long term conditions per year in North East England. W2W aim to develop strategies to attract investors, financial measures and legal arrangements for service, support and marketing arrangements to deliver the SIB.
The organisation will use the funding to provide specialist coaching training sessions and support for members of the club who are blind or partially sighted. This will allow them to access physical activities using the sport of Goalball, develop their navigation and mobility skills, aid their independence and physical wellbeing.
The Action Learning Project 09 Nov 2015
This development grant will allow the group to build their capacity in a number of ways. This includes capturing learning from purpose built cohousing developments and exploring how it could be applied to existing communities. The group will also engage with people in the community to shape the design of projects. The long term aim of the proposed project is to increase the provision of senior cohousing.
Shieldfield Environmental task force 20 May 2015
The organisation will use the funding to develop an environmental tasks force involving residents, students and school children to help improve the Shieldfield estate with support from Groundwork STAN. This will provide volunteering opportunities, bringing residents together and supporting them to make changes and address environmental concerns including fly-tipping, litter, graffiti and run down public spaces.
'Family play and learn' 26 Aug 2015
The group will use the funding to deliver weekly Saturday sessions including English language for children, a support group for parents involving citizenship and cultural expectations in the UK for local refugee families. This will aid integration into their new communities and improve childrenâ€™s educational attainment.

The organisation will use the funding to run an â€˜enterprise connect groupâ€™ and training workshops for members of the local BAME community. This will provide a business network for beneficiaries, develop their entrepreneurial and business skills and empower them to set up their own social enterprises and improve their employment opportunities.
