Mental Health and Employment Social Impact Bond 01 Feb 2016
The funding has been offered for a five-year social impact bond to support people with severe and enduring mental illness to get into work in Staffordshire and Tower Hamlets. Up to 2,800 people will take part in the programme voluntarily and move towards employment through a recognised approach called Individual Placement and Support, and payments as they take up placements. Payments will fund service delivery and repay Â£400,000 start-up investment capital to Big Issue Invest.

The group will use the funding to carry out a consultation regarding the future use of their church for community activities and events. This will enable the church and its volunteers to establish how they can serve the needs of local residents.

The group will use the funding to hold a series of workshops aimed at raising awareness of heart conditions, fitness and how to help someone having a heart attack. This will enable members of the public from the BME community to learn new health skills and be able to help someone having a heart attack.
This project will install raised allotment beds and growing structures at its community garden site, in order to cater for a more diverse section of the community. This will enable more people to utilise the garden and benefit from gardening and growing activities.
