Mental Health and Employment Social Impact Bond 01 Feb 2016
The funding has been offered for a five-year social impact bond to support people with severe and enduring mental illness to get into work in Staffordshire and Tower Hamlets. Up to 2,800 people will take part in the programme voluntarily and move towards employment through a recognised approach called Individual Placement and Support, and payments as they take up placements. Payments will fund service delivery and repay Â£400,000 start-up investment capital to Big Issue Invest.
The funding will allow the Respect Young People's Programme (RYPP) to develop a social impact bond and expand its work into new areas to meet gaps in service provision. RYPP is designed to address adolescent to parent violence and abuse. This issue is often associated with problematic behaviour in school, anti-social behaviour and poor mental health and can be caused by family breakdown and exposure to domestic violence. The grant will be used for data, financial modelling and other technical support.

This project will use the funding to improve their school playground by adding goal ends and markings. This will encourage physical activity to help address rising obesity amongst local children.
The group will use the funding to deliver sessions in supporting speech therapy for parents and carers of children with additional communication needs. This will give beneficiaries skills to improve levels of confidence and communication in the children they support.

The group will use the funding to deliver activity sessions for people who are socially isolated. This will include gardening, arts and crafts and the creation of a community newsletter. This will engage people in positive social activity and reduce isolation.
This project will use the funding to install an adventure playground, allowing the provision of after school clubs. This will mean local school children are able to access improved play facilities and have a safe environment to play in.

The Girls Network will expand its work with teenage girls and young women aged 14-19 from the least advantaged communities with female mentors from their network of professional women. The mentors will meet regularly with the girls to help the explore career opportunities, develop their skills, confidence and self-esteem and providing them with the support for them to achieve their own goals through education and beyond.
London Jesus Centre IT Suite 21 Jul 2016
This is a project by a community organisation in Northampton, serving beneficiaries in Westminster. The group will use the funding to upgrade their IT suite which is no longer fit for purpose. This will enable disadvantaged people to access online resources including welfare services and also to search for employment.
The group will use the funding to provide career and employment support for people who have experience of the judicial system, vulnerable women and people experiencing mental ill-heath. This will increase beneficiariesâ€™ confidence and enable them to improve their employment opportunities.
