Singing for Lung Health Glasgow 23 May 2017
This organisation raises awareness of lung health and provides support for people living with lung conditions. This project will involve training volunteers to lead ‘singing for lung health classes’, aimed at improving lung capacity and health through regular singing activity.

The anti-tobacco youth campaign will provide free and accessible health education for all young people tackling the issue of smoking. Young people will form anti-tobacco youth groups to help develop and manage an interactive website, discussion groups, campaigning and educational material. They will receive training on all elements of the campaign.

The organisation have identified a need for modernising their kitchen to provide better facilities for the young people’s groups, who use the centre. The grant makes a contribution towards the kitchen refurbishment.

This project will create volunteering opportunities for young people in and around the North East's cultural sector in the run up to the 2012 Olympics. For example, the Great North Run cultural programme is interested in developing a young curators programme and the new Live Art festival would like to develop live performances for and by young people. Young people will be trained in the role of becoming young advocates.

This two year Local Area Project seeks to increase the volunteering opportunities available to 80 young people aged 13-18 in the Stonedyke neighbourhood of Drumchapel in Glasgow by recruiting and sustaining a group of young volunteers, providing relevant training and supporting the young volunteers in their work with other young people and with older users of the Neighbourhood Centre. This two year grant will fund a new Development Worker.
Young Scot is the national youth information and citizenship agency for young people in Scotland aged 11-26. Our funding will strengthen its capacity around co-design in three localities, as it develops targeted and bespoke work with young people in those areas. This builds on Young Scot's existing offer to young people including an information and advice website portal which received 2 million page views last year, and the Young Scot smart card, which is held by 620,000 young people. The charity aims to support young people to make informed decisions, play an active part in communities and be involved in decision making.
