GCVS Connect 11 Apr 2017
The GCVS Connect project will ensure the voluntary and community sector in Glasgow is well linked in to public affairs and is informed, supported and engaged in order to maximise its contribution to the Council's agenda to tackle poverty and social exclusion in the city.
The DRC Youth Poject works with socially excluded young people along the Dumbarton road corridor. A community development holistic approach is utilised that is person centred and responsive to the particular needs of todays young people. The focus is on areas such as health, alcohol/drug abuse, employability and territorial issues with an aim to provide an alternative to crime, addictions and unhealthy lifestyles.
Bethany Christian Trust (BCT) offer a therapeutic befriending project which is currently running in a number of schools in Glasgow. This form of support provides young people with a unique place to explore and clarify the barriers in front of them and to begin within a nurturing relationship and set of conditions to explore positive ways to bring about a solution.
