NCT breastfeeding Peer Support training programme 18 Nov 2015

Gloucester and District NCT Outreach 05 Mar 2010

A project by this Gloucester group to raise awareness of support services and extend them to new local parents through a leaflet handed out by midwives. Volunteers will attend training at a national conference to gain skills to help the parents. Books and DVDs on parenting will be updated for loan at support groups and a new Open House network will be started where parents can meet.

Little Persons guide to West Berkshire 20 Jun 2005

This branch offers information and support on pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood. With a Lottery grant it will produce a 'Little Persons Guide to West Berkshire'. This publication will detail all local services, amenities and activities with the emphasis on pre school and toddler age. The booklet will made available free to child care professionals and services with a nominal charge to others.

The experiences of parents with pre-term babies 06 Jul 2004

The birth of a premature baby is a time of great crisis and the Group has found this is exacerbated by poor communication, information and support. This study will aim to enhance the well being and quality of life of these parents by identifying interventions that can enhance their experience and so in the long term contribute to the development of better parental control. This will help enhance the chances of a better long term outcome for their baby.

National Childbirth Trust (Wirral Branch) Specialist Worker Training Fundin 23 May 2007

The National Childbirth Trust Wirral Branch will use an award to train one antenatal teacher and four breast feeding counsellors who provide support and guidance for women who want to breastfeed their babies. At present up to 50% of couples wishing to use the services have to be turned away due to lack of trained staff.
