Aquatint Rememberance 24 Jul 2007
This branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to organise a visit to France to take part in a Remembrance Ceremony for the operations of British Commandos on the Normandy coast. The project will also give members a chance to visit the site of the Normandy landings and to be given a guided tour of the area by a former member of the French Resistance.
This Royal British Legion branch in Devon will host a celebratory event open to the local community commemorating the 80th anniversary of its formation.

The project is to promote the work of the Royal British Legion. The money is for a marquee, computer and presentation equipment.
Celebration of Eightieth Anniversary 06 May 2008
This branch of the British Legion will use the grant to hold a celebration of its eightieth anniversary, including a formal dinner for members and a social evening for supporters. It will also use the grant to advertise for and recruit new members to the group and provide transportation to events for less able-bodied members. Refurbishment of the kitchen area, seats and memorial garden will also take place.
Weekend D-Day celebration event 25 Jun 2004
The Gateshead branch of the Royal British Legion has been awarded a grant towards their weekend of celebrations in commemoration of the D-Day landings. This will involve a church service as well as entertainments and refreshments. The event is open to all residents in the Gateshead area.
Northern Remembrance Concert 24 May 2004
The organisation, in general, safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who served in the armed forces. With the funding it will arrange for the Royal Marine band to visit and perform at the first Northern Remembrance Concert in Manchester that the British Legion will host. The event will enhance community spirit whilst at the same time create a platform for inter-generational relationship development. It will also develop comradeship and audience participation.
The 40's evening & Veteran's Lunch 02 Jul 2004
This registered charity would use an award to organise two complementary events. The first one is a 1940's night (in the Dymchurch RBL club) for all ages, including children, where the club will be decorated (& blacked out) in 1940's style. There will also be entertainment appropriate to the era. The other event is a formal lunch for WW2 veterans and their partners. This would be open to all veterans, whether or not RBL members.

The Edmonton branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to commemorate the 60th anniversary by holding a children's party and an adult's evening event, followed by a parade and service of remembrance.

The Church and Oswaldtwistle branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to host 2 concert nights to commemorate the 60th anniversary and will visit local schools to give talks on WW2.
The Bedfordshire County Branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a celebration to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. A church service and parade will involve veteran and ex-service groups as well as cadet organisations. An exhibition of wartime life, educational material, and museum artefacts will also be on display.

The Baschurch and District Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a church service and parade to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. A Brass Band concert and reception will also be held.
Commemorative Drama Production 25 Aug 2004
A project to commemorate the events leading up to the end of WW2 with the provision of a "Day of Nostalgia" for the benefit of members of this group and the wider community.
This branch of the registered charity would use an award to organise a reunion consisting of a parade and a church service to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day landings. Many of their members in Kent will not be able to attend National events either abroad or in this country because of their age and state of heath. Ashford is easily reached by road or rail. Organisations and youth groups like St Johns Ambulance, Army cadets, Navy cadets and scout groups would also attend.
Ballynahinch Royal British Legion Festival 24 Mar 2005
As part of the 60th Anniversary festival being held in Ballynahinch the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a parade. Up to 200 veterans as well as Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Scouts and Cadets will take part. This will provide a valuable link between the youth of today and those who served their county in the Second World War.
