The group will use the funding to enable access for those living with disabilities and to improve health and safety for the elderly as this is an established venue. This will meet the needs of service users and increase the usage of community buildings.
Would like to make cosmetic repairs and update the security of our hall so it it is a viable premises to hire, enabling us to fundraise.
Gateshead Legion help for the aged and disabled 23 Jul 2009
This group will use funding to improve disabled access to their premises and install a chair lift. These improvements will enable members and other groups using the premises full access to the building. Those who have stopped attending because of infirmity will be able to fully participate in social events held in the club's first floor function room.

Aquatint Rememberance 24 Jul 2007
This branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to organise a visit to France to take part in a Remembrance Ceremony for the operations of British Commandos on the Normandy coast. The project will also give members a chance to visit the site of the Normandy landings and to be given a guided tour of the area by a former member of the French Resistance.

Celebration of Eightieth Anniversary 06 May 2008
This branch of the British Legion will use the grant to hold a celebration of its eightieth anniversary, including a formal dinner for members and a social evening for supporters. It will also use the grant to advertise for and recruit new members to the group and provide transportation to events for less able-bodied members. Refurbishment of the kitchen area, seats and memorial garden will also take place.
