A project to offer information, advice and support to Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Kings Heath and the surrounding area. The project will provide support in a range of issues including immigration, housing, welfare, education, health care, employment and training. These services will help Refugees and Asylum Seekers access services appropriate for their needs, which in turn will reduce social isolation and distress.
Support and advice for carers 07 Jan 2005
Funding will will make possible a one to one befriending service for carers which will include telephone contact and home visits and encourage carers to develop confidence and volunteers to gain new skills. _x000B_
Funding will enable families who have children with disabilities to have a central point of contact who can liase between the services and professionals who work with young children. This service will be provided at diagnosis, during assessment and prior to entry at school.
Get Hooked on Fishing at Rowheath Pool 03 Nov 2005
The project is to improve the lake area of Rowheath Park in Birmingham. It will improve the appearance and accessibility of the lake and its use as a fishing facility, particularly for disadvantaged young people. The grant will fully fund clearing out the lake, replenishing the fish supply, installing an aeration system and improving accessibility.
Small Heath Community Cricket Club 13 Nov 2006
The project will develop a piece of abandoned land into a cricket ground for the local community. The aim of the project is to reduce the amount of anti-social behaviour in the area and create a safe place for children to play.
A major training initiative 11 Dec 2006
This 3-year project is a training initiative involving young people attending the Stage 2 youth theatre group. Young people will become involved in aspects of the theatre other than just performing. This project combines a peer mentoring scheme, two committees and individual development plans.

The project will upgrade Bennett Hall, which was built in the 1950s, to adjoin it to the existing multi-room community centre that is used by Quinborne Community Association. A youth officer will also be employed to develop new arts and social activities for people from the Harborne and Quinton communities, particularly young people. _x000B_
