Information and practical open day for children who stammer and their 20 May 2015

The organisation will use the funding to deliver a one day pilot information and education day with specialist practical support workshops for parents and activity sessions for young children with severe stammering issues. This will improve the ability of parents to appropriately support their children through increased knowledge and skills, and develop a peer support network for parents and children to reduce their isolation and improve the children's confidence and self-esteem.

The Great Adventure 14 Dec 2016

The funding will be used by a voluntary aided school to create an outdoor adventure trail, including a wigwam house and balance beams. This will create a safe space for children to spend time outdoors, and take part in new experiences and physical activity.

SPRING into ACTION 2016 20 Apr 2016

The organisation will use the funding to run community events and activities at Scargreen Recreation Ground to include, arts fitness sessions and a carnival for the benefit of the local community. This will increase public confidence accessing this community space and increase access to community activities in the recreation ground.

The project will also enable local women from five remote communities in North Gorkha to work alongside CAN nurses and support the delivery of primary health care and health awareness. Local horticulturalists will develop new cottage gardens to improve nutrition and strengthen local food security.

Troubled Family Mentor Project 15 Jul 2015

This new project based on a pilot initiative will support troubled families in the charity’s residential accommodation who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The project aims to prepare families for independent living by developing role-model family mentors and teaching basic life-skills such as cooking on a budget and through family activities like gardening sessions. Mentors will work with families to help them achieve objectives set both at the start and during their stay with STF.

Involve Northwest Benefits Advice Service 27 Jul 2016

This is an expansion of an existing service that provides welfare benefits and debt advice to those living in Wirral.
