The group will use the funding to stage a multigenerational community event reflecting on and celebrating the contribution of veterans in WW1 from BME communities. This will include several guest speakers; raising awareness of their collective heritage.
The group will use the funding to improve their community roomâ€™s kitchen and make it accessible to all members of the community. This will enable continued safe use of this community facility and ensure it meets current buildings legislation.
The project will help survivors of torture living in West Midlands to overcome psychological and physical trauma, giving them the best chance to rebuild their lives and become healthier and more active members of society. Various issues will be addressed including poverty, access to appropriate accommodation and support services, legal protection and asylum claim issues.

This project will engage young people aged 11-25 and older people aged 50 and over, bringing both groups together to break down barriers in order to help improve the community by creating a local hub. Community-based and community-led activities will be developed to increase social inclusion and reduce fear of anti-social behaviour and levels of crime. A calendar of weekly events, including lunch clubs for older people and youth drop ins, will be introduced to help achieve these goals.

Specialist refuge accommodation and support in the community for young women aged 16 to 25 affected by all issues of violence against women and girls including forced marriage, honour based violence or female genital mutilation, rape or sexual abuse. Each will be supported individually to build their confidence and have the strength to take ownership and responsibility of their lives. Further support will include a helpline, drop-in sessions and outreach work.
