This group promotes education in art and culture to people with disabilities in the North East. They will use an award to hold workshops with disabled people where they will learn the history of disability arts in the area, and produce a magazine which will be distributed to disability networks, people and groups.

National Youth Advocacy Service provides advocacy & volunteer independent visiting for children & young people in care in Cheshire. This project aims to improve the physical and emotional well-being of vulnerable children and young people. The grant will be used to fund positive activities for isolated children in care, to improve their confidence, well-being, resilience, skills and placement stability of the children and young people taking part.
Fenham Association of Residents (FAR) is a leading community organisation in the West End of Newcastle. It works with young people to strengthen community cohesion, help them to overcome the challenges they face and to achieve their goals. This grant will go towards the salary of the Children and Young People’s Lead Worker. This will enable FAR to develop its work with young people further around its priority areas, whilst taking advantage of a newly renovated building. These priorities include: mental health, sexual health, education and training and diversity.

This group works to promote the sport of rugby union to young people in their area. They will use this award to buy additional equipment so that more young people can take part. The equipment is expensive and many young people would not be able to afford it themselves.

This disability group in Bebington, Wirral, will use funding to install an automated push button door in its premises and deliver disability awareness training to public and private sector organisations. This will enable people to better understand issues faced by people with disabilities and address legislation affecting disabled people.

This theatre group will use funding to hold two performances based on recent changes to the health effecting people with learning disabilities. This will raise awareness of health issues to both people with learning disabilities, the people who support them and the health care professionals that provide the services.
This is a project by a charity in Oxford serving people in the North East. The project will launch a support service for brain injured children and young people and their families. This will include drop in sessions, visits, and information.
