£10,000 towards casework and core costs. Manuel Bravo Project aims to provide free legal assistance to asylum seekers and also provide legal assistance with settlement protection applications for refugees.
A grant to Abigail Housing 03 Jul 2018
£15,000 towards core costs. Abigail Housing seeks to provide housing to refused asylum seekers and refugees who are at risk of becoming homeless. The Bradford based Destitution Project offers these individuals a room in a shared house, a weekly allowance, food parcels, bus money, advice and support and signposting services.
£15,000 towards core funding of the Directors salary. Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers aims to reduce destitution and support well-being of refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds. It provides destitution support through emergency support, a drop-in service and specialist destitution casework and advice.
£10,000 towards legal advice for asylum seekers. Kirklees Citizens Advice and Law Centre provides immigration, benefits, housing, employment. This funding is towards its work to provide legal advice to asylum seekers.
£15,000 towards 'through the gate' work. West Yorkshire Community Chaplaincy Project aims to reduce re-offending through their 'through the gate' support with offenders leaving HMP Leeds, offering advice, support and signposting as well as training programmes.
