This branch of the registered charity would use an award to organise a reunion consisting of a parade and a church service to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day landings. Many of their members in Kent will not be able to attend National events either abroad or in this country because of their age and state of heath. Ashford is easily reached by road or rail. Organisations and youth groups like St Johns Ambulance, Army cadets, Navy cadets and scout groups would also attend.

The Norfolk County Branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a service to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two. A military parade will include members of the Armed Forces, ex-Service organisations with their standards as well as youth organisations. A reception will be held after the parade for all involved.

The Port Sunlight branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold two reunion events that will allow the group to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WW2.

Simulated 'childrens' street party'/ 'End of War' supper dance 15 Jul 2005

The Royal British Legion- Bexhill Branch will use a grant to organise a series of events aimed at commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This will include a Children's Street Party- with a 1940's style tea party alongside a series of activities designed to raise awareness amongst those attending about what it was like to live through the War. The other event will be an 'End Of War' Supper featuring Big Band music, period decorations and costume.

The Newton Aycliffe branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to visit Eden Camp Second World War museum. The group will also invite local senior citizens to a commemoration concert so that they can relive memories of the time.
