Living with less stress courses 30 Nov 2017

Maggie's at Clatterbridge runs a six week course called 'Living with Less Stress' six times a year as part of it's programme of emotional, practical and social support for people affected by cancer. The course aims to equip visitors who are struggling most acutely with stress management strategies and allow them to manage triggers and emotional responses, so they do not become overwhelming. The grant funding would allow us to run this course for people across Cheshire for a course for a whole year, with six courses with up to 20 people on each course. The course will have a significant impact on our Centre visitors, with 100% of participants on the last course rating it as 'Very useful'. Comments from the last course included "I found the course inspirational. I feel like I am able to look forward to the future with a really positive outlook.". By equipping Centre visitors with the tools to manage stress going forward, the organisation ensure that the project has a long term impact beyond the six week course and give people hope beyond their cancer diagnosis.
