New volunteer recruitment 15 Sep 2016
Average cost to the charity of recruitment, training, resourcing and support for the first year of a volunteer is £768. We ask schools to contribute £420 towards this leaving a shortfall of £348. We would use this grant to cover this shortfall which would enable us to recruit 14 new reading helper volunteers.

NEW VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT 18 Apr 2016
We will recruit, train, resource and support 3 new volunteers who will support 9 children for one year. Each child will benefit from 2 individual half hour sessions with their volunteer each week. Sessions will involve sharing books and games which the charity provides. The emphasis is on reading for pleasure; volunteers get to know their children, discover their interests and we can then source books to engage these reluctant readers. We would hope that these volunteers continue into second and subsequent years with the charity which would mean even more children could be benefit from this support.

VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT - OXFORD CITY 01 Dec 2016
We would recruit, train, resource and support for one year 14 new volunteers who would work with at least 42 children in Oxford schools in their first year, imparting a love of reading to enhance their lives at school and beyond, breaking the deprivation cycle. (Even more children will be reached if volunteers continue into second and subsequent years with ARCh)
