Grant to Vincent Dance Theatre 20 Nov 2017

Brighton based Vincent Dance Theatre (VDT) is one of the country’s top dance/theatre organisations making work for distribution across the UK with a focus on gender equality and current social issues. VDT’s programme of activity engages with marginalised groups, in particular, young people, using creativity to give them a voice. Funding was provided to enable them to reach a further 15 boys/young men as part of their new project SHUT DOWN. It will pay for costs involved in running 12 open workshops at Brighton Youth Centre and Crew Club.

Grant to Time to Talk Befriending 20 Nov 2017

Time to Talk Befriending offer personalised support to older people who feel chronically lonely through intergenerational befriending and signposting services. They are the only long-term, inter-generational befriending providers operating city-wide in Brighton & Hove and have recently extended their service to Adur & Worthing which is another high risk area of need. Funding was provided towards the core costs of running services in both areas.

The Deans Senior Tea Club - Health & Wellbeing 05 Jul 2017

Deans Senior Tea Club run free, weekly, volunteer led social tea clubs that are open to all, in local communities across the Deans in East Sussex. They help to combat loneliness and isolation in older age, and promote health and wellbeing through their clubs. Funding was provided to help meet the costs of them providing exercise and yoga sessions for their members.
