Reuniting refugee families with their relatives trapped in European camps 19 Apr 2016

Under ‘best interests’ requirements, both the UK and French governments have legal obligations to young people which they are failing to comply with. This application builds on the success already achieved by MLP (with Citizens UK and partners) through its landmark court case which has allowed unaccompanied children/young people from the Calais ‘Jungle’ to join relatives settled in the UK. This funding would build on these cases and seek to expand the model tested across Europe. It would do this in three ways: 1. Defending and developing the strategic legal case 2. Supporting work to reunite young people with their families 3. Supporting policy work
