Northumberland schools 'Your past, Our future' 08 Nov 2004
The aim of the scheme is to involve as many pupils as possible in finding out about how people in Northumberland were involved in WW2 & to join with Veterans and their families in commemoration. Many schools are studying WW2 as part of their normal curriculum, some hold joint celebrations with local veteran groups already. This work will be further developed as a result of the grant with emphasis on using in particular war memorials. Pupils will meet veterans & their families and 16 schools will be involved
