Closing The Circle 14 Feb 2018
This charity will recruit a part time worker who will coordinate and further develop the group’s job club, food bank, advice service and other community services. This will provide greater tailored support to the community in their time of need.
HOPE – Helping our People Everyday 14 Feb 2018
Accessible, holistic support and early intervention will be funded for people experiencing bereavement. This project will help people manage their grief, reduce anxiety, develop coping strategies and move forward more positively following the death of loved ones. A new counsellor will help to reduce waiting list times and provide one-to-one specialist support for bereaved children and young people of school age. The group will also expand its remit to support people aged 18 to 24 who have lost a parent.
BADG Dyslexia Support 25 Jan 2018
A series of informative videos for people with dyslexia will be funded. These videos will include information, advice and guidance for people living with dyslexia.
Advocacy Support & Empowerment PLUS 21 Mar 2018
Support will be provided to people in Birmingham, with a specific focus on black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. This project aims to reduce levels of unmanageable debt by advising people on a range of options so they can better manage their situation. There will be a focus on improving people’s knowledge of their rights when dealing with bailiffs and evictions. They will also learn how to increase household incomes through welfare benefits, as well as budgeting skills and money management.
Do It Yourself (DIY) 31 Jan 2018
A range of educational workshops and trips will be funded for Pakistani young people and adults, to help them to feel less isolated, develop new skills and cultural understanding, and build confidence to empower them to tackle their day-to-day problems.
Upkeep of Grounds and New Equipment 11 Feb 2018
This funding will be used to upkeep the grounds and purchase new equipment for bowling activities. People will be able to take part in social activities which benefit their wellbeing and encourage the development of positive relationships with their peers.
Shared Histories, Shared Identities 14 Feb 2018
Out-of-school activities will be provided for young people, exploring shared histories and identity and culminating in a community celebration event as part of Black History Month. This project will bring people together and increase dialogue and links in and across communities.
Asylum Crisis 14 Feb 2018
Through advice, advocacy and support, this project aims to address asylum seekers’ essential support needs, whilst enabling access to legal advice, casework and representation to secure Home Office or Local Authority support. This will help to improve their wellbeing and quality of life by supporting them to find accommodation, preventing homelessness.
Signpost Inclusion Get Active 26 Mar 2018
A range of sporting, climbing and adventure activities will be funded for children living with additional needs. This will improve physical activity and fitness whilst bringing people together and reducing isolation.
Media Production Training Academy 14 Feb 2018
This group will run media production training for young people who are at risk of disengaging from further education, employment or training. They will go on to develop a media campaign to raise awareness around social issues affecting their communities, enabling them to develop a range of skills whilst removing barriers to employment.

This project will provide a 16 week intensive course to support the personal, social and professional development of 16 to 25-year-old girls, ensuring they have a more equal chance to progress and access new opportunities.
