Tackling holiday Fitness & hunger 25 Jan 2017
This project is the delivery of holiday activities, to include yoga, gardening and healthy eating workshops, for disadvantaged young people in the community. This will provide structured things to do during the school holidays.
This project is the delivery of cricket activities which will use the different aspects of the sport to improve the numeracy skills of boys and their parents.
TKCBA Youth Engagement Programme 08 Mar 2017
This project is boxing based activities for young people from different backgrounds. This will encourage young people to work together and gain a greater understanding of respect and discipline, with the aim of reducing antisocial behaviour and tensions in the area.
The group will raise awareness of the need for a substantial increase in the supply of blood and organ donations from BAME communities through local marketing campaigns, the delivery of information sessions and working in close partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant to encourage blood and donor registrations.
Helping the Community 22 Mar 2017
The group will deliver training sessions including First Aid, Child Protection and Multi-skills Level 1 to young people not in education, employment or training. This will provide learning and volunteering opportunities to support young people into employment.
Canterbury Advice Service II 14 Feb 2017
This project will support Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic women to understand and access welfare rights and giving them the opportunity to escape or stay away from abusive relationships. Delivered by an experienced welfare rights advice worker, individuals will receive support on entitlements for benefits, debt management, housing and homelessness, immigration, and financial inclusion. With this project, people will have better living conditions which enable them to live safer independent lives.
Health is food and fitness 15 Feb 2017
The school will deliver a series of health based activities, including physical exercise and nutrition, for pupils and their families. This will enable families to cook healthy meals, and will also encourage physical activity and a healthy diet, with the aim of reducing obesity and health inequalities across the school community.
The school will install artificial grass and a play trail. This will provide access to stimulating outdoor equipment with the aim of encouraging physical activity, reducing obesity and providing a diversion to antisocial behaviour.
AWARE support for families affected by autism 03 Nov 2017
The group will provide a range of activities including youth clubs, holiday play schemes and residential breaks for children and young people on the autistic spectrum, as well as offering support for parents of autistic children so they can access services and build a support network. This will increase the independence of children and young people and improve the care that their parents and families can offer them.
