Growth & Resilience 14 Jun 2017
This project supports single parents and their families in Crewe, Nantwich and nearby rural areas in Cheshire East. It provides practical and emotional support including counselling, parenting programmes, child-centred support and a back to work programme to help them overcome issues and barriers. Issues may be around domestic abuse, substance abuse, debt and unemployment. A new keyworker will also be employed specifically to support families with multiple and complex needs.
Wilmslow & District Furniture Recycling 07 Dec 2017
Wilmslow & District Furniture Recycling (formerly Wythenshawe Development Trust) assist disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals and families in need in south Manchester and north-east Cheshire by recycling unwanted furniture. They also provide local employment opportunities for people and encourage local recycling schemes to reduce environmental damage. The grant will make a contribution towards the general running costs of their work in the local community.
Careing for carers in Knutsford 20 Feb 2017
To provide advice, information and an opportunity for carers of a disabled child or young person to have some 'me' time to meet other carers and relax. The aim of the project is to support parent carers as many feel lonely and isolated. This will give them the opportunity to meet and mix with others, to have fun, some treats and give them some support.
Under-11s Advice Booklet 17 Nov 2017
Visyon is a local children and young people's mental health charity, providing a range of support to 4 to 25 year-olds across Cheshire who are facing mental health challenges. This project will produce an advice booklet which can be sent home with primary school children offering advice to parents on dealing with some of the key issues that under-11s are facing with their mental health. The booklet will be designed in-house by the Visyon team making use of our expertise in children's mental health, and it would be distributed through primary schools across Crewe and Nantwich. The booklet will provide advice to the family of every primary school age child who attends school in Crewe and Nantwich on some simple things that they can do to support their child's mental health and tackle some of the key mental health issues that present in this cohort of children. The grant will pay for printing and distribution costs.
The Welcome Youth Service 30 Nov 2017
The Welcome is a small, grassroots charity at the heart of the Longridge & Shaw Heath estate in Knutsford; we exist to support members of the local community, who are facing disadvantage as a result of poverty, social exclusion and/or isolation. The project will launch a new youth service, which has been identified by the young people on the estate as being something that is needed, supported by Cheshire East Council, Job Centre Plus and Cheshire Police. The funding will be used to pay for a sessional Youth Worker to help deliver the project. The project will make a difference to the lives of young people by encouraging them to live more healthily and avoid making poor life choices, as well as improving their aspirations for the future and reducing their reliance on agency support.
WorkTaste 01 Aug 2017
The Rossendale Trust is a registered charity based in Macclesfield, Cheshire that provides accommodation and high quality, person centered care and support for adults with learning disabilities. We are seeking support for WorkTaste - a dynamic ‘in-house’ supported employment project working with local employers and community project partners to provide real employment experience for our tenants and the wider learning disabled community. The grant funding will be used to pay for some of our WorkTaste coaches who will support 30 placements, over a 12 week period and also some additional resources to support the project such as IT equipment and essential staff training on H & S, Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Diversity & Equality, Fire Safety. This training is mandatory and forms part of their induction as well as ongoing essential refresher training.
Overwater Wheelybus Service 13 Mar 2017
Overwater Wheelybus Services provide wheelchair transport so that those in need can enjoy a trip into Audlem and take advantage of the Wheelyboat and The Audlem Lass whilst also meeting some needs for transport identified by Audlem Medical Practice. The aim of the project is to improve the social experience and quality of life for local people with mobility issues. The grant will be used as a contribution towards the purchase of a suitable minibus vehicle to use for these trips.
We provide Scouts in Kidsgrove to build their confidence and skills. We need your help to replace equipment and offer more activities.
