New Horizons in British Islam engages in critical discussions around Muslim identity, tradition and reform to provide a positive vision of what it means to be Muslim today. To strengthen integration so that communities can live well together, the organisation seeks to use arts and culture to cultivate different perspectives of Islam in Britain. This grant will support a part-time Art Co-ordinator to explore this idea and will fund an activities budget.
Samworth Inclusive Zone Activity Club 11 Jan 2017
The school will run an inclusive zone activity club for children who have special educational needs and children with disabilities. This will enable the children to participate in activities that increase their self-confidence.

The project will run open mic sessions and drug and knife crime awareness workshops. This will enable young people to meet with their peers and other individuals and receive guidance and advice about issues such as social isolation and extremism.

The project will deliver a housing advice and support outreach service in two areas of high deprivation to support people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

This project will provide computer training sessions that will be open to all from the local community, to improve digital and technology skills and develop positive community relationships.
The school will refurbish their dining area to improve the physical and social environment for pupils.
COG Youth Magazine 20 Dec 2017
A free magazine for young people will be created, offering educational articles on social issues, information on local clubs and volunteering opportunities, shared creativity, fashion and music. This will enable people to have a voice whilst developing new skills and informing others.
