The school will create a family library area. This will provide a dedicated space for reading with the aim of developing literacy skills across the school community.

The school will install outdoor play equipment and surfacing. This will provide a safe and stimulating place to play out of school hours, with the aim of reducing the rising rate of childhood obesity.
Uniting Communities 13 Feb 2017
The aim of the project is to unite different ethnic communities against racism and hatred and instead create friendships as well as work together for the good of the community. A committee will be formed with people from all backgrounds to devise small-scale interventions and activities and will encourage the community to come together. This will enable people to share their ideas and become more accepting of each other.
Unity Day Festival 22 Mar 2017
This project is a community football tournament event, using football as hook to inform people about local services, as well as delivering workshops about crime and antisocial behaviour. This will provide young people with diversionary activities, with the aim of reducing crime and antisocial behaviour.
Fit4Work 18 Jan 2017
The funding will be used to run a series of health workshops focussing on weight management and stress release, for people who are employed in jobs which involve sitting for prolonged periods of time. The project aims to help people keep themselves mentally and physically well, reducing incidences of health issues as a result of inactivity.

Developing Positive Mental Attitudes at Batley 08 Nov 2017
The school will deliver a programme of support for girls who are vulnerable to mental health issues, which will focus on advice, guidance and mindfulness exercises, providing practical tools to help them deal with mental health issues at the earliest possible stage.
The group will improve their outdoor space by creating a sensory area, and they will use the space to teach young people and staff about gardening and growing fruit and vegetables.
The group will replace their current boiler to enable continual community use of the facility.
A place fit for learning at last! 03 May 2017
The funding will be used to create a fully accessible learning environment for the use of disengaged young people in the community. The project aims to provide vocational training, including plastering and cookery, in order to assist people into employment.
