The group provide social, educational and recreational activities for older people in the Motherwell area. The project will fund arts and crafts, digital photography, line dancing activities, and a three night trip to York for the group’s members.
Development and Inclusion Project 24 Jul 2017
This group support people who are affected by Parkinson’s living in Motherwell and the surrounding areas. The grant will fund a range of therapies, trips and activities for members. The grant will also cover volunteering and admin cost for the group.
Time to get out for a wee lookabout 24 Jul 2017
This group provide a lunch club for older people in the Wishaw area over 65 years of age. The lunch club provides social opportunities and reduces isolation while improving the mental and physical wellbeing of participants. The project will fund costs for 3 outings and a Christmas party dinner for the groups 28 members.
Shotts PSYV 01 Nov 2017
This new organisation from Shotts aims to inspire young people to participate positively in their communities. The grant will fund running costs for the new group and allow the group to take part in volunteering activities.
This group run a regular youth volunteer group carrying out community work and outreach activities. The funding will be used to run the youth group and for marketing materials. The grant will also be used for panel committee meetings, two conferences, a visit to Tulliallan Police College and a visit to Police Scotland HQ.
Brandon Court Arts + Crafts Project 16 Jun 2017
This group will use the grant to develop their "Arts + Crafts" project within Brandon Court tower block in Motherwell for residents and the wider community. The group will also take a trip to a craft fayre in Birmingham NEC.
Viewpark Gardens Allotments Association 28 Nov 2017
This group will use the funding to create a number of new allotment beds for members of the community to come and give gardening a try. A kitchen will also be installed and the funding will also allow accessibility improvements to be made to the site and a project worker will be recruited to support the day to day running of the organisation.
2018 Football Tournament – Newmains Hammers 2003 09 Oct 2017
This group work with local children and provide them with a forum to express themselves in a safe football environment. The funding will be used to take the youngsters to a tournament in England.
Lanarkshire Transplant Team - Scotland 2017 16 Jun 2017
This group is made up of kidney transplant patients who will participate in the British Transplant Games taking place in North Lanarkshire. The transplant games aims to raise awareness of the needs for organ donation and promote healthy, active lifestyles. The project will fund sports clothing uniforms and equipment to allow the team to participate in the games events.
Newarthill Community Development Project 31 May 2017
This group will use the funding to run various activities in Newarthill Community Centre and allow them to hold group meetings on a regular basis, enabling local action and volunteering opportunities.
Meeting your Neighbours 24 Jul 2017
This group brings together a range of members from different organisations who support newly arrived refugees and migrants. The funding will allow them to host a community event which will bring various cultures together.
