Social Action in North Tyneside (SAINT) 25 Jan 2017

The project will support vulnerable residents in North Tyneside, many of whom feel excluded from society as a result of severe and enduring mental health problems, learning disabilities and poor physical health. They will be supported to develop and carry out their own social action projects within the area. This will benefit the communities in which they take place, by meeting a specific need or addressing an identified issue.

Social Enterprise Challenge 18 Jan 2017

The project will deliver social enterprise training and activities for young women from their unit, including workshops, support from mentors and trips to workplaces. This will help young women to develop entrepreneurial, business and employability skills, and engage them in creating social enterprises to address issues within their communities.

Benon Dene developing pupils skills and independence 08 Feb 2017

The school will deliver a programme of lunchtime physical activity sessions in dance, multi-sports and outdoor activities for their pupils. The sessions will culminate in a celebration event with other local special schools. The project will enable children to lead an activity and achieve a leadership award. This will help children to improve their confidence, communication, independence and social and physical development.

Phoenix Detached Youth Project 14 Jun 2017

The aim of the project is to work with disadvantaged young people aged 12-25 to develop their ideas and support their life choices and education through detached youth work, one-to-one and group work. The four main themes for this project will focus on improved life skills, health and wellbeing, resilience and employability. The group will encourage and inspire individuals through a range of flexible activities.

Cycle/Balance Bike Track and Surfacing 18 Oct 2017

The school will develop its early years outdoor area and install a cycle track. This will help the school to establish a community cycling hub and engage more families and community groups to take up cycling to improve their physical health and fitness.

Re-connecting our club to the community 06 Dec 2017

The project will install benches, a refreshment area and welcome signs to improve the venue and re-establish the club as a community facility for local people.

Store and go project 17 May 2017

The project will purchase a container to store donated furniture and other household equipment, and hire a van to move the equipment. This will provide a place to enable people from deprived backgrounds to store their furniture when moving home, and enable them to purchase household furniture and goods.

The project will support people who are socially isolated and have health issues to organise and take part in health, creative expression, social connection and cultural enrichment activities. This will provide opportunities to socialise, improve self esteem and overcome barriers to accessing mainstream services.
