This group will engage with a carnival artist who will work with schools and colleges to produce a festival tableaux. The funding will also provide transportation to the festival for performers from diverse communities as well as provide resources for the volunteers. The festival will bring people together and build strong relationships in the community.
SMA Support NI Christmas Party for Kids with SMA 14 Sep 2017
The group is a UK wide organisation providing support to people affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The project used the £2,850 grant to organise a Christmas party and visit from Santa for children with SMA across Northern Ireland.
Centenary Celebration Diner 04 Dec 2017
This group, based in Midlothian, will host a dinner to celebrate their 100th anniversary. It will bring together old and current members and the group will stage an exhibition of the history of both the village of Cousland and the organisation itself.
The funding will be used to run eating disorder workshops which aim to empower people to live a more fulfilled and healthy life.
Lumsden Mary Fair 26 Mar 2018
This group will use the funding to run the annual Lumsden Mary Fair which will have a farming theme this year. The event will be attended by the Lumsden community and people from the surrounding area.

This school will create a community garden and outdoor kitchen to enable children and parents to develop their fitness while learning about food production, composting and healthy eating.

The project will support adults aged 16 plus from Traveller communities and aims to increase confidence, skills, health and well-being. This will enable them to seek further opportunities and improve integration in their community. There will be a focus on engagement and developing positive attitudes within individuals. Activities such women groups and arts and crafts will be included as well as formal training to address areas such as healthy eating, dietary and lifestyle advice.

This group will use the funding to run a community law advice centre, providing legal advice to disadvantaged people in the community, especially sick and disabled people. They specialise in dealing with benefit claims, including Employment and Support Allowance, and Personal Independence Payments, debt, and utilities. The project will now open for a further day per week.

FIVE-0 and On The Go 05 May 2017
The ‘+FIVE-0 & On The Go’ project is reducing social isolation and improving health and wellbeing for people over 50 in the Newtownabbey and Antrim area. The three-year project is using a £249,508 grant for staff costs, training volunteers, and to run activities, including health checks, day trips, cooking, line dancing, digital photography, and events. Older people will be supported to become volunteers and help others, and the project will use their skills to help other community groups.
Chickenley - one community 30 Nov 2017
The group will offer play provisions for young people, employment support and courses, training for parents of children starting nursery and alcohol and drug awareness education sessions for young people, alongside a variety of social events and activities for the whole community. This will ensure support and provisions for people of all ages, and will bring the community together.
