This is a project by a registered charity in Harrogate. The organisation will use funding to deliver one-to-one support to older and vulnerable people in their own homes with conversation, accompanied walking and shopping trips, outings and parties. The aim of the group is to organise regular exercise to keep the over 60's mobile and active, helping to combat isolation and promote social inclusion. The project is to take the older people on a day out to experience a Health Spa, which will increase the skills of members by introducing them to alternative therapies and help them to realise the benefits of regular exercise. The award is for costs of trip to health spa including transport.

Autumn Fayre 09 Sep 2005

This group promotes exercise and alternative therapy activities for older people and less mobile people living in five different villages in Lincolnshire. The project is to hold an autumn fayre which will bring together the five groups in the five different villages. The highlight of the fayre will be a traditional 'high tea' served by local catering students.

Exercise and social get togethers for older people in rural areas 04 May 2005

The organisation currently provides weekly exercise classes for people over the age of 60 and less able people. At present, these classes are held in four rural locations in Lincolnshire. The project aims to extend this service by training 12 more exercise supervisors and establishing at least 24 new classes in villages along the Lincolnshire coast.

BREAKING DOWN ISOLATION 05 Feb 2018

The Warrington Older People's Forum aims to reduce social isolation amongst older people in Warrington through activities, days out and short breaks. They hold meetings every first Monday in the month with speakers and provide supportive information to older people. The funding will be used as a contribution towards rent for the 2018/19 year and to keep the monthly activities going for elderly people using the Whitecross Community centre in Warrington (including small purchase for items such as leaflet printing and refreshments).
