The British Pacific/East Indies Fleets association in Birmingham has been awarded a grant towards the travel costs for a commemorative visit to Singapore in August of this year. Funding has been provided for 87 Second World War veterans, and 71 spouses and carers.

To address problems caused by incompatible and forced marriages 13 May 2004

A project to provide support, mediation and advice to people suffering from isolation, depression, adultery or abuse as a result of incompatible marriages. Promotional events and workshops will raise awareness of the issues and advice will be offered to families planning arranged marriages to encourage consideration of compatibility. The grant, over two years, will fully fund the salaries of two case workers to operate the project and arrange the events and workshops.

A project to provide information, advocacy and support to meet the needs of older people and their carers, people with disabilities, unemployed and disadvantaged people of all ages.
