Just For Kids Law plans to grow impact through its policy and influencing work, by building on success of recent campaigns, and by advocating for a new Youth Justice Legal Centre. It aims to set up an office in East London to respond to increasing demand from the area and will pilot the Advocacy Year programme that will increase local level support for young people.
Just for Kids Law is interested in learning lessons from their campaigning and communications activities in relation to a key legal case on student finance for young people whose immigration status meant they were unable to access student loans: R(Tigere) v Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills UKSC 57. The study will examine the ways in which an organisation can plan a strategic litigation campaign on a particular issue and assess the benefits and risks associated with these activities.
Just for Kids Law is a legal charity working with young people, supporting them to understand their rights and providing specialist advocacy and representation through their youth-led service model. This grant will support organisational growth and development as part of the Growth Fund annual package of support.
