40's Night Remembrance Concert 25 Jun 2004
The Standish branch of the Royal British Legion in Wigan, Lancashire have been awarded a grant to enable them to carry out a range of activities as part of their 40's Remembrance Concert. The Concert will have entertainment, refreshments, and the participants will be wearing fancy dress. The Concert will be for a wide range of veterans from around the local region.

A reception will be held afterwards with local cadet forces, girl guides, scouts and other community groups expected to come together to celebrate.

The Poynton Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a reunion and street party to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Local veteran groups, schools and community groups will come together for a weekend of celebration and an exhibition will detail life during the war.

The South Manchester Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to enable two of their members to attend the 60th anniversary celebrations in London on 10 July. The veterans have been invited to Buckingham Palace for the VE Day Commemorative Lunch.
The Royal British Legion Cheshire have been awarded a grant that will enable them to organise a special Cathedral Service in Chester in commemoration of the ending of World War two. This will be followed by a parade through the city and where a number of events/displays will take place. The event is open to the whole community and will be attended by WW2 veterans and local schools.

This branch of the Royal British Legion will use the award to deliver a programme of activities for members and their families. This will include trips and events such as attending an All Forces Reunion, a Festival of Remembrance and the RAF Waddington Air Show. This project will enable veterans to reunite and provide opportunities for older people to engage in events that they might otherwise not be able to access.

The Penketh and Sankey Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a street party to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Burtonwood Heritage Museum will contribute exhibits to the event and an evening dance with have a themed 1940's troupe.

The Winsford Branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a range of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Second World War. These activities will include a Miss VE/VJ competition where the competitors will be dressed in the clothing of the time, a painting competition with the VE/VJ 1940s theme and a party in July for 400 in the Civic Hall.
Disabled toilet 16 Feb 2006
This is a project to improve the disabled toilet facilities at the local Royal British Legion in order to meet the regulated requirements for disabled persons and extend access and participation. The grant will pay for building, alterations, plumbing, and decorating for the disabled toilets.
