Rode Heath Young Peoples Community Centre Limited run a young people’s Community Centre, utilised by a range of children and young people’s groups. The organisation have identified a need for modernising their kitchen to provide better facilities for the young people’s groups, who use the centre. The grant makes a contribution towards the kitchen refurbishment.
Youth Healthy Lifestyle Trainers 16 Jun 2009
This new project, delivered by young people, will establish a healthy lifestyle programme for young people in East Sussex with the aim of reducing obesity and alcohol misuse and helping young people buy and cook healthy foods. The young people involved in the project will travel to schools and youth clubs to promote the project and recruit other young people to act as trainers.

A project to provide information, advocacy and support to meet the needs of older people and their carers, people with disabilities, unemployed and disadvantaged people of all ages. The project, over two years, will fully fund the recruitment and salaries of a Project Manager and Administrative Worker, general running costs, rent and travel.

By providing toilet facilities for people with disabilities or mobility impairments, the church can encourage new people to take part in current community clubs or activities in the adjoining hall. Several local organisations use the facilities and many cater specifically for people who require additional support and this project will enable them to reach more people.
