Unity in Diversity Group
Over two years, this project will provide support for Asylum seekers and refugees in the Swansea area. Support provided includes food supplies, facilities for group meals and lessons in English. Volunteering opportunities will also be available for the refugees and Asylum seekers within the wider community to support integration. The grant will fund staff salaries, expenses, recuitment costs and the purchase of food.
Swansea Centre for Deaf People 3 Year Development Programme
The Swansea Centre For Deaf People will expand its activities in Swansea in order to offer increased services to both the deaf community and also the wider community. The grant will be used primarily to pay for the salaries of a part-time centre manager and a part-time caretaker. The centre manager will develop new activities such as British Sign Language (BSL) courses, deaf youth-focused activities, hobbies and crafts, as well as promote the use of centre to other organisations.
