This project is to provide practical support to groups and individuals to establish community food schemes, develop community allotments, deliver events and activities on food growing and healthy lifestyles/eating and a range of food related activities targeting adults and children.

This project is to continue the Community Car Scheme for a further three years and to expand into new areas of Amber Valley. The service is run by volunteer drivers who use their own cars to transport people to various appointments, social activities held at local community organisations as well as just helping them to do their weekly shopping.

Amber Valley CVS run a variety services and activities for the local voluntary and community sector. They also provide a number of direct services for local people including; a volunteer brokering service, a home help scheme for older people, and a befriending service for isolated older people. This grant will help them focus specifically on the needs of older people and older people's groups._x000B_
Further the participation of disabled people within their local communities
DCIL provides support to disabled people through information services, peer counselling service, advice and opportunities for volunteering. This project will continue this service for a further three years, providing training to local voluntary and community organisations to encourage them to be inclusive towards disabled people who are interested in volunteering. There will also be a more structured support system put in place to provide mentoring support to disabled volunteers._x000B_
