Marie Curie Helper Service supporting people in remote and rural comm
This new service will provide befriending support to individuals coping with a terminal illness in Argyll and Bute. Volunteers will be recruited and trained to provide support to individuals and their families/carers. It will provide one-to-one befriending, information and advice on palliative care to ensure terminally ill people are able to remain at home for as long as they wish.
Village Hall - Outdoor Development.
This project will landscape and improve the outdoor space around the hall which is currently in poor condition, so that it can be enjoyed by the community.
'Play on Colonsay'
This group are committed to the continuing development of the island with current projects including renewables, broadband, social housing and a community garden. The group will use the funding to develop a play park space within the grounds of the community garden.
Tarbert Castle Community Orchard
This group was set up to manage the conservation of Tarbert Castle. They will use the funding to transform unused land into a community orchard and train volunteers to grow fruit for the benefit of the community.
