Garden Maintenance Service
Expansion of 'Greenfingers' Project, which provides an affordable garden maintenance service for elderly and disabled residents in Braintree District. Award will help meet the needs of residents on the waiting list and those in the more rural parts of the District.
To provide an opportunity for carers of people with mental health problems to attend an art workshop with the intention of exhibiting the work later in the year.
Public address and loop system for Earls Colne Village Hall
Group will install a public address and loop system in their Hall, to benefit the large number of local clubs and organisations who use the Hall for their meetings, some of which have members who are hard-of-hearing.
Digital photographic equipment
Digital equipment will help this group meet the growing demand of members and visitors seeking tutorials on digital photography. They are to hold an initial exhibition and demonstration in the spring to meet some of the demand and raise awareness of the club.
Boys Brigade are to undertake water borne activities, including navigation and driving, fishing, bird watching and conservation studies of the area. All of which will increase skills, experience and team building. The powerboat will also be available to other young people's groups in the area.

Archaeological & Historical Society uses an award to engage the wider community in a research project into Essex Place names - through publicising the project and thereafter providing training, a seminar and improvement of web-site and data-base to give the necessary wider access to appropriate information about Essex place names
adult basic skills class
Registered charity offer support to disadvantaged people experiencing difficulties with homelessness, unemployment and mental health problems. Award would enable them to run extra classes on a Sunday, for those unable to attend during the week, in adult basic skills, helping clients to attain a recognised qualification.
Older people's group receive an award to contribute towards visits to English Heritage sites. Most of the members are over 65 and many are widows or widowers, the visits give them the opportunity to enjoy the companionship of others for the day as well as visiting new places of interest.
Group provides cooked meals twice a week for elderly people in Witham. In order to strengthen their group they would use grant to pay for the costs of a deputy cook to assist the current cook along with volunteers and members travel expenses.
Grant to contribute towards an An Arts Festival to take place in July in towns and villages in the district.

The project will provide social/educational & recreational opportunities for older people, who would otherwise be lonely and isolated in their own homes. Older people will meet with their peers in a social setting to share activities of their choice, including visits to places of interest, helping them maintain an active mind & contribute to developing a suitable activity programme for their peers.
PARC provides play and recreation facililties for disabled children in Essex, and respite for their families and carers. The organisation has a play centre in Great Notley Country Park and runs after school and youth clubs, as well as holiday play schemes and other groups. The group is to set up a permanent play area and adventure playgroup on land next to its centre. The award will pay for a roundabout.
Cricket equipment and pitch
Cavendish Wanderers Cricket Club will improve facilities at their ground in Cavendish. They will provide a new match pitch to enable safe practice and match play for junior age groups.
Young Person Coaching
This tennis club will upgrade one of their tennis courts to a playable standard. This will enable the group to set up a coaching course for young people which will lead into membership in the club. This will develop their skills and promote healthy lifestyles.
Wethersfield Tennis Court Refurbishment & Associated Initiatives
This playing field association provides a range of activities for members of the public. The project will allow the group to refurbish the local tennis court and then carry out coaching sessions which will be offered to the public.
Interior Folding Partion
This village hall provide a range of activities including evening classes and keep fit classes within the Gestingthorpe area. The project will allow the group to install sliding doors to enable the use of the hall by two groups at the same time.
